The Daughters of Penelope is a philanthropic woman's organization dedicated to improving the status and well-being of women and families.

The Daughters of Penelope is the senior woman's auxiliary of AHEPA, The American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association, headquartered in Washington, DC. There are over 400 chapters throughout the United States, Canada, The Bahamas, Australia, Cyprus, and Greece.

Chapter, District and National Officers are elected annually. Programs are approved for the coming year at the annual conventions.

The objectives of the Daughters are to promote the social, ethical and intellectual interests of its members; to cultivate good citizenship and patriotism for the United States of America and other countries where chapters exist; and to promote the dissemination of Hellenic culture and ideals. The betterment of humanity is a unifying theme of the Daughters and members are encouraged to participate in worthwhile projects both nationally and in their respective communities.

The order is identified by the head of Penelope in the ancient headdress symbolizing friendship and womanhood, which is the foundation of life, home and country. Encircling Penelope's head is an olive wreath, the prize awarded victors of the ancient Olympic games. The cross on the Daughters' emblem symbolizes Greece, and the crossed sabers are the shield of Greece. The United States is symbolized by the eagle. The letters Theta Pi stand for Daughters of Penelope. The Daughters is affiliated with the General Federation of Woman's Clubs.
